The Ritz Chamber Players are dedicated to reshaping the classical music landscape by addressing the glaring absence of minority representation, both on stage and in the audience. African Americans make up 13% of the U.S. population and even more in some cultural centers, yet many feel excluded from the arts. We challenge the myth that Black audiences won’t engage unless they see themselves on stage and are committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment that embraces all.
Since 2002, the Ritz Chamber Players have showcased the exceptional talents of African American musicians. Our concert series highlights their brilliance, offering a striking visual and auditory testament to their artistry. Through dynamic outreach programs, we engage communities of color, bringing them closer to the rich world of classical music and deepening their appreciation of the arts.
Our purpose is simple but powerful: to ensure that the performing arts are accessible to everyone. We believe that everyone should have the freedom to express themselves creatively and experience the profound impact of music that transcends boundaries and connects us all.
